A group of students from LaSalle University in Philadelphia recently used Baldwin's Book Barn as the backdrop for their short film, "Empty Pages," in which Miles Baldwin, a lonely author, creates a character that comes to life. The movie was named Best Picture at the campus film festival and also earned accolades for Best Actor and Best Story. It will be entered in the 11th annual Campus Movie Fest Hollywood, which features the top student filmmakers in the world, June 21-23 in Los Angeles.
NEW BOOK BY LOCAL AUTHOR
"A True Yarn" is a book based on memoirs, letters, remembrances and recollections of a World War II veteran
who served as a Merchant Marine and rose to master/captain of a U.S. Liberty ship.
Written by Dan Cornwell and George Mershon, each of the stories within is based on fact and readable by anyone of any age.
We at Baldwin's Book Barn call it "a well-written story that includes history and adventure."
